Gold membership of the Supply Chain Sustainability School is step number two

Established in April 2002 Amberon works in collaboration with its clients to provide safe and reliable Traffic Management solutions through effective planning, programming and the delivery of essential Traffic Management activities.

Amberon operate across England and Wales with 32 depots stretching from Truro in the south to Stockton in the north, offering its services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Following on from the announcement of Amberon TM’s ability to cut 82% of all non bio-degradable plastic packaging in step 1 of its Green-7 initiative, step number two now sees Amberon awarded gold membership status from the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

Amberon has in fact been a member of the Supply Chain Sustainability School for over 6 years and this month, has now joined a select group of companies who have been awarded Gold status by the School.

To achieve this status a company has to:

  • Complete a re-assessment in past 12 months
  • Use at least ten resources (or attend events) in the last 6 months
  • Demonstrate an increase in sustainability competence
  • Actively share knowledge and experience with other members – either with a case study or speaking at a School event

The Supply Chain Sustainability School was launched in 2012 and is an award winning, industry wide collaboration led by industry partners and members and offers access to thousands of learning resources and CPD accredited content.

The School is completely free and allows access to training in the following five different topics:

  • Sustainability
  • Offsite
  • Building Information Modelling
  • Lean
  • Construction and management.

The School also offers a suite of over 80 e-Learning resources which cover topics from carbon reduction to modern slavery. These modules vary in length, and can be accessed on a variety of devices with many that are CPD accredited which can be used as evidence towards any personal, professional development goals.

Amberon TM Managing Director Terry Musson told us:

“As members for 6 years, it’s clear for all see we’ve had a commitment to sustainability in our practices. As we take that up a level in 2021 however, the gold status times perfectly with our own development of the Green-7 initiative.

“We’re proud to have hit all of the right notes to be awarded gold membership, but I can boldly state that this is not
merely a box ticking exercise for us. Our commitment to a greener, more sustainable company, set of practices, and indeed, a greener industry will not waiver.

“A big thank you and congratulations also to our Group SHEQ Manager Jeff Quimby, who has worked diligently and passionately to drive us to this gold standard achievement.

“We would like to thank the school who continue to provide the educational material which has proven so useful for us in re-shaping the way we now operate as a business. This is continuing to assist us on our journey to be the most sustainable, environmentally innovative and best practice equality and diversity employer within the traffic management industry.”
